Our community includes novelists, scriptwriters, poets, storytellers, children’s literature, comedy, and nonfiction. We welcome writing in any genre. We welcome writers from diverse backgrounds. We welcome all levels of experience and aspirations of every size – from haiku to blockbuster trilogy.
Led by Katie Ward, an award-winning author from Suffolk, every session includes tips to improve your creative practice, focused writing time, peer support and inspiration.

Throughout 2026 Wolsey Writers will meet on the first Saturday of the month (except in April when it is on the second Saturday 11th and in August where there is not a session) in the upstairs bar.

There are two carparks very close to the theatre - Spiral Car Park and Wolsey Car Park.
Ipswich train station is a 10 minute walk and you can find up to date train times on the Greater Anglia website.
